Evening Release

At the close of the day, ideally with the lights already low — three cards to gather one thing worth thanking, set down one thing you carried, and take one blessing into sleep.

The evening examination is one of the oldest documented daily practices — Pythagorean students were told to review the day before sleep, and the Ignatian examen formalized it in the sixteenth century as thanks, review, and resolve. Gratitude, release, and blessing are that same three-beat, read through cards instead of recited.

Nights when you need to solve something. This spread closes a day; it does not open a problem. If the mind is still working, write the problem down for tomorrow and draw only the blessing card.
