union · choice · alignment · covenant
“I choose between two, and bear the seam.”
Two forces recognize each other and find a shared house in a third thing — union is not fusion; it is two breathing toward the same direction.

The soul card of 15
The Lovers is the soul card of one pair: 15/6, with The Devil in front. The two pictures were composed to echo each other, two figures and a winged being above them in each, and the pair reads almost like one card seen in two lights. In front, The Devil asks where a choice has hardened into a habit nobody remembers agreeing to. Underneath, The Lovers keeps the original freedom alive: the capacity to choose again.
For someone whose number is 6, the 15/6 page is the shadow version of the same question, and worth knowing. A combination page on The Devil and The Lovers drawn together in a reading explores the same mirror from a different side.
Living with doubled Lovers
The risk of a single Lovers card is a life spent at the crossroads: weighing, comparing, deferring the decision in case a better one appears, or handing it to a partner so it does not have to be owned. The gift is a strong instinct for what fits. It helps to notice which of your commitments you would choose again today, and to let that be an answer rather than a test.
The Lovers as a year card
With The Lovers as your year card, the theme to reflect on is choice made from the heart: the relationships, values and commitments you say yes to, and what each yes means you set aside. The card is about love, but it is just as much about alignment — whether what you do matches what you care about.
You might use the year to look honestly at a close relationship, to name the values you would not trade, or to notice where you have been choosing by default. The card does not ask for a grand decision. It asks you to know why you choose what you choose.
Which birthdays get it as a year card
Add your birth month and day to the year, then reduce as for the Personality card. It gives the year a theme to reflect on; it does not say what the year will bring.
